Showing a clip of a Cinema 4D course while describing the pro's in Motion Design in Blender was gold.

I used C4D way back in the day and wow, it was so straightforward right out of the box. When I started my journey into Blender, I was met with one headache after another, and was constantly referring to tutorials on Youtube because the learning curve is steep. It's obviously gotten much easier now to navigate through Blender, but that's because of a combination of playing around with the software for over a year, and recent QoL updates. But I still think C4D takes the cake when if comes to ease of use. As for features... yeah, I definitely lean more into Blender.

It's obvious that this video is biased towards Blender, but it's a good video anyway.
I work as an exhibition booth designer and I've been using Cinema 4D for over a decade, and I love it. I would like to switch to Blender, especially because I want lo leave Windows entirely, and Cinema 4D is what is holding me on it, but there are some things that I do in Cinema 4D that I (think I) can not do in Blender. For example, in C4D I can apply one or more images to a group of objects just by dragging a material to this group in the hierarchy, without needing to deal with the UV mapping of those objects. In blender I didn't find a way to do that as easily in C4D, and this makes a big difference in my workflow.
I'm considering to install an older version of Cinema 4D though WINE so I can still work on Cinema 4D in Linux and use Blender for other things.

I recently switched to C4D + Redshift and i have to say i really enjoy it! I was blown away a bit because i never hear positive things about C4D so i was expecting a quite bad experience :)

Hey! Loved this content, just saved it to my playlist. If I may ask, where can I find the full render video at 4:25? I need it for my references.

All has been said here ! I'm sticking with C4D only because I'm using it since more than 10 years now and it's still hard for me to learn a new program and losing all the mastery and experience I have gathered through the years ! But DAMN !!! If you are knew to 3D ??? Go learn Blender asap !

Hmmmm, I don't think you used Cinema 4D in "2024". All new physics, particles, volume modeling, and pyro effects. Not to mention "mograph" which is an excellent system right out the box for years. But yeah, I get it; free and open source has so much value to more people around the globe and hope that Blender stays around keeping Maxon on their toes.

I have Cinema4D R26 and, of course Blender.
I do Character animation, Blender beats C4D by every single measure in animating Characters
as well as modeling.
C4D is way overpriced for what it offers today.

Been using C4d for 10 years but I feel its so limited in comparison to Blender. Its super easy but we also have to pay for renderers, have less tutorials and addons. Thinking of finally making the switch.

Choosing Cinema 4D is a good carrer decision, its like making seperation to other people, since blender is free anyone can try and learn, and yeah the pricing point is ridiculous, and a rendering engine that has to be purchased separately

I've learnt both. I use Blender.
People rave about things, I'm Gen-X, so here's the cons:

C4D has those icon things you add to an object for deformation or whatever, which is confusing. Appalingly slow render engine!!! Rigging was only available as a separate plugin.

Blender has Geo Nodes which is, like the node systems in LightWave and SoftImage, a complete pain and written by mathematicians for mathematicians, not artists. You can't delete textures. Node based hair system is indecipherable and the Asset Browser - has anyone got it working yet?

I like using all of them, I just use what's best for the job, personal project or budget available. What seems weird to me is that A LOT of Blender users seem to want to make sure to REALLY point out the few advantages of the program in relation to others, almost in a butt hurt way lol... it feels so weird to me. Again, it might be just me, but I don't see users of the other 3D programs do that as much. It is really strange lol. Anyway, in the end the old "use whatever tool is best for you and the task at hand" still applies, they are all useful programs in different ways to different people. So you know...

Someone please suggest me which software I should learn in 2024?, is cinema 4D still worth to learn in 2024 at all?

Would appreciate you comparing the UI’s between blender and c4d. I’ve been deep into c4d for many versions including the latest UI; just installing and staring at the Blender UI is a bit intimidating if you don’t know how to translate what I’m seeing from C4D. Thanks! 🎉🎉

Very much not up-to-date and sometimes just wrong.
The AMD ProRender engine was discontinued ages ago.

Cinema 4d recently introduced it's in-house cooked particle system. That's offers the same functions like xpartciels.
