Definitely don’t lose hope! I had 3 kids, all naturally conceived after 40. My pregnancies were very easy too(no morning sickness, nausea, stretch marks, hip or back pain). Biked and worked almost till giving birth with the first 2. It’s POSSIBLE . Maybe I was lucky, or maybe it’s because I’ve always preferred a diet with lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains and no red meat. But the problem with being an older mom is not having grandparents to help with raising the kids. My heart goes out to women who have a hard time conceiving. Good luck, ladies!

Had my first baby naturally at 39 with low egg reserve (turned out happened very quickly ) . Now trying for a second at 41. Don’t loose hope . Recent studies show low no difference between conception rates between women with low egg reserves and normal rates . Certainly my experience also.

I believe the key is a happy mind n a healthy body. I gave birth to my 1st child at the age of 40. By the grace of Allah i was checked for any chromosomal anomaly in my fetus n it was Alhumdulillah it was all good. I conceived naturally. I’ve just turned 40, now 30 weeks pregnant. We’d been trying for around 18 months. All that time I was doing many pregnancy tests each time. One was positive then vanished. Another my period stopped for 2-3 months. Once I accepted it just wasn’t meant to be & stopped stressing, it happened. I’m fairly fit but not 100% healthy. Love coffee and cola & junk food. Eat more snacks than proper meals. Had the DNA testing, blood tests & ultrasounds. So far everything is fine with both baby & I, including his size & activity. So I would say the main thing is to not stress, live like normal, take extra vitamins (I take elevit) & focus more on other things. You never know when a little gift might arrive in its own time.

Thank you doctor for not telling us ‘it is impossible’. I stopped checking out information about late pregnancy some times ago - what’s the point. All say the same thing ‘it’s too late’. Words different, meaning is the same.
I’m turning 42 soon. divorced for a long time, since I was 4 mo pregnant with my son. He’s 7 now. Those were tough years for a single mom, but now I have a good career, stability and I want one more baby. At 40 I went for the check up, with 2 different doctors and both confirm all was well with my health, count, hormones, tubes, genetic panel. And in both clinics I was told my chances were close to nothing. At least that how that sounded. I was considering IVF (alone, w/o partner). What stopped me was how invasive and impersonal the process was. Mandatory shrink was the worst. I have a pretty busy lifestyle, but of course a baby #2 was a priority. Still after all tests and mandatory procedures w/o proper explanation plus intrusive shrink intervention (which was a state regulation for those who were trying alone) I gave up. It was too stressful, judgmental, didn’t feel right, especially when shrink started explaining me how I should raise a child and provide for the family. That was a tipping point. I just focused on my son, job, other goal and accepted probably it’s not meant to be.
Now I’m almost 42. I met a guy and we want the baby. I realize that for my fertility gap between 40 and 42 is an eternity. And set my and his expectations accordingly. But still, it’s so good that there is a doctor who says your have a chance, you have options’ and doesn’t judge women like myself for ‘not doing it earlier’

Im soon to be 38 and I waited to have a baby for almost 20 years but Id been through mostly failed relationships and I was going to school at the time. But Im not giving up nor losing hope .Im just going to be patient like god wants me to be. I will have a baby on Gods time and hope if its in his Will.
