How to Create your own Secure VPN (and why you should)

Don't even get me started on why you need a VPN. If you are using the Internet, you need a VPN. END OF STORY.
Although most VPNs claim that they have a strict "No-Log" policy, meaning that they do not store or sell your data to third parties or authorities, we can never be sure what's happening on their backend because we can't see it. And there are actually instances where a supposedly "No Log VPN" is caught sharing user data with government authorities, so we can't just take the word of VPN companies and trust them with our data.

That is why I decided to create my own VPN! And you should probably do it too. It's probably the best option you have to protect your privacy on the Internet and stay safe.
We'll use Linode to create a Linux machine, and install an open source VPN software (OpenVPN) on the server. Trust me, it's very simple and takes less than 5 minutes! Just watch the video :)

Linode is a very good cloud service that I would use but it is not free. Is there a free cloud hosting service I can use?

Hence the government of india made it mandatory for all the vpn provider in India to keep all the logs of all the users for 5 years and whenever the government ask VPN they have to give all the logs without objection.
