Just for the sake of info, the Symbiote Suit was actually made by a fan...

- The Symbiote Suit was made by a fan who won a "Create the next Spiderman suit!" contest, held by Marvel. The original fan design had a red spider-logo, however, which the comic edited slightly - in the PS5 Spiderman games the red-logo symbiote is a skin for anyone who's cares. Pretty sure the fan also came up with the suit being a symbiotic alien.
- In the comics this suit doesn't make Peter angry - the suit was a totally fine boost, actually. But the writers needed to nerf Spiderman back to his classic iconic suit, so they just made Peter be grossed out by the suit being alive, and deciding to abandon it just like that.
- The 90s Spiderman Show was the one that came up with the idea of the Symbiote making Peter angry, bcuz they wanted an ACTUAL reason for Peter to abandon such a amazing boost. The idea was so good and tangible, that every Spiderman show and movie after followed up and expanded on this idea.
- Eventually the Comics started adopting the idea that the Symbiote is alive, and can influence its user - also leading to the creation of Venom. However I do not know if the 90s Symbiote idea came BEFORE or AFTER Venom was made. Either way, the initial concept was the Symbiote just being a weird alien that boost the user but is "disgusting"...? This got retconned to hell, of course.

Funnily enough Stan didn’t make the symbiote enhance Peter’s rage in the comics it was the 90s tv show that made the symbiote give him anger management issues.

I think they added the idea that it makes him more violent when they wanted to go back to the original suit. It was originally a fan suit that was so popular it became official, and it was used for years without changing his personality.

Stan stopped working on Spider-Man by the time that story came out. The symbiote costume was made by a fan who won a contest, and Marvel paid him $50 for the rights. Then Jim Shooter wrote Secret Wars and introduced the Symbiote suit. Stan Lee made a lot of great characters and stories, but most of what people like about Spider-Man was created by co creator Steve Ditko and other Spider-Man writers.

Funny, but 1) Stan Lee did not create the black suit, it was a fan submission, and 2) It originally just boosted Peter’s powers. The thing about it making him aggressive and angry came from the cartoons and movies. The reason they actually made it alive was so that Peter would have an excuse to get rid of it because they were tired of coloring it in (he still used a cloth replica for a while, for some reason. He stopped using IT after Venom was introduced because it reminded Mary Jane of Venom, which she didn’t like.)
