If you want to can jam, but can't get a hold of a water bath canner, here's how you can do it!

Most of the supplies you need for canning jam just might already be in your kitchen!

This is NOT a step-by-step tutorial on canning jam, but will show you how you can improvise with what is available.

You can use any pot and, folded kitchen towel in the bottom of pot. Can also put part of towel between the jars.

Thanks so much! I was just looking at getting into this recently, since I have been making some small batches, and today was thinking I might have to get a canner... no idea I can't even use them on my stove! Likely saved me a ton of headaches! And as it turns out, I have the same big stainless pot as you, so this was even more helpful. Thanks again!

Thank you, thank you! I’ve never made jelly and this was so helpful because I don’t have a canner and don’t want to have to invest in one. I was wondering if I could use my 14qt stock pot instead and you confirmed that I could and explained it thoroughly.

You’re an amazing help to me. I have 16 cups nan king cherries in freezer, and problably same amount on next ripe bush. Learning now for doing this winter, or when time. Mmm I can’t wait. Thank you dearly. Don’t need another pot.
I’ll boil for 10-15 minutes I think when full 1 inch from top. ❤❤❤ love it

Great information!!! I don't have room for a canner but I do have a question....does the pot HAVE to be stainless? I have a 6 qt. pot but it's non stick. I don't think it has a coating. I think it has Quantanium nonstick cooking surface is reinforced with titanium. Thank you!!

Does it have to be stainless steel on the exterior of the pot? Mine has a coating on the exterior
