Taking a course in Mindfulness Meditation was the single most POSITIVE life changing thing in my life. I have had cancer, heart surgery, and suffered through multiple traumatic events which all contributed to PTSD. Practicing mindfulness is unbelievably powerful, and everyone should do it. THANK YOU Dr. Marks for bringing attention to it!😊

Mindfulness Meditation, and nature, is very powerful! Nothing helps me more when I'm stressed out than to go for a walk in nature and purposefully use all 5 senses to get my mind engaged in something other than what's bothering me. I think it grounds us and puts the brakes on that part of our brains that gets stuck in that "wheel of overwhelm." Through your senses, you are letting your mind and body feel that everything is ok in this moment, allowing it to dial down the stress hormones. It shows you that there's a whole lot more going on in the big world than your problems, so they feel smaller, and easier to solve, than before. It's such a simple, yet powerful thing.

I get it now, you have to live in the present cause that’s all you can change for ur future, don’t look to the past that’s where anxiety comes from cause u can’t change it.. wow thankyou

My Mother passed away unexpectedly, during my treatment for cancer. My husband and I faced a barrage of negative family hurdles after. I'm still going through cancer treatments and I know it's devastating to watch your loved one go through something so painful, but I'm definitely going to make it through. It's hard on me right now, because my husband is becoming more and more inundated with stress. I tell him to enjoy this moment. I ask him to be present when there is a moment of relief or laughter; no worries about the past... no fears about the future... just be present, be here. Lately, he's been lashing out at me pretty hard, demanding perfection from me. Mindfulness is a POWERFUL TOOL. It's helping me cope with everbody else's bullshit, so I can deal with my own feelings, emotions, wants, needs, and re-structuring my life without my best friend. Question: Should I find a personal counselor or a marriage counselor first?

Wow, even just this short video has genuinely helped me understand - being stuck in your head, and how mindfulness can easily help, thank you!!

Mindfulness encourages self-reflection and a deeper understanding of one's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This self-awareness can lead to personal growth and positive behavioral changes! :)

OMG! Thank You for this Dr. Marks! I have a first date in a couple of days and I'm so anxious about it going well or not. I think about it way too much. I will try this technique because I'm tired of stressing myself out. 😅

The workbook "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels is a great mindfulness guide. It really helped me recenter, find balance, and let go to be present.

My new psychologist is teaching me this to help with my post concussion syndrome. I also have seasonal affective disorder. Can you please do a talk on these two issues? Thank you!

Wow! Thank you so much! I feel like that was such a eureka moment for me. What a great reminder to feel and be alive.

Practicing mindfulness through meditation, for me anyway, helps to notice your mind's thought process, putting it into recognisable patterns. This helps reinforce that you are not your thoughts, or the monologue in your head, but are the observer of this.

Very nice Dr. Marks. Love the de-cluttering idea. Thanks. 🧘🏻‍♂️

I used to think that mindful was just a company strategy to mold all ppl to 1 behavior so we will all become so calm and controlled, mindful and we aren't allowed to be unique but I have understood by now it's about managing life feelings and emotions.

Superb material! If this topic has you hooked, there's a similar book I'd highly recommend. "A Life Unplugged: Reclaiming Reality in a Digital Age" by Theodore Blaze

Hmm a man I dated recently told me he is an overthinker and unavailable. He would go quiet for days which confused me and we disconnected.
I still miss him 2 months later and ofcourse there are more scenario's to the why he was on and off distant but he was honest . I also tend to analyse and the silences made me feel unworthy and unimportant to him. He had a demanding job with weekly trips and told me his phone would ne off all day while working and it gave him stress if he made me unhappy.
I didn't expect big things, just basic respect in an intimate connection.
I'm off topic sorry, the emptional unavailability triggered my date memory.
