Some friends decide to enter and cave dive the Cuva del Auga. Something bad happens to them. This is a story of cave diving gone wrong.

This section publishes the advances in the topography of Cueva del Agua since 1986. The exploration and topography works have been carried out in these years in Projects or Work Periods, setting objectives for each of them and with one goal: exploration, planimetry and research of Cueva del Agua. During this time many people have intervened, currently the work continues with new collaborators and teams joining, others have ended their collaboration or have left for various reasons. Since 1974, the explorations and coordination of the Cueva del Agua Project have been in charge of the GRUPO CUEVA DEL AGUA team. During this long period of years, they have collaborated in the realization of these projects, among others; JL LLamusí, Angel Ortego, Vicente García, Alberto Achica, Sergi Pérez, Carlos Bodas, Manuel de las Heras, José L. Carcelén, José Soto, Javier Ruberte, Carlos Villada, Juan Francisco Plazas, Gema Beltrán, J. Sánchez, Francisco Izquierdo , Belén de Andrés, Ricardo Constantino, Juan Leandro Ronda, José M. Calaforra, Angel Fernández-Cortés, Andrés Ros, Fernando Gázquez, Alejandro Getino, Tomás Rodríguez Estrella and new divers and researchers who join each year. The Cueva del Agua LIMITE 10000 Project is a team coordination project, open to anyone who wishes to collaborate within the exploration and experience criteria for Cueva del Agua.

They violated the 5 rules of cave diving:
1: Always use a continuous guideline to the surface.
2: Save two-thirds of the total air supply for returning to the surface.
3: Carry at least three lights during the dive.
4: Limit dive depth to that appropriate for the gas being breathed
5: Be well trained in cave diving and mentally prepared for the dive.
That's why they died. Being silted out is not a death sentence. If they have a guideline with cookies, they could have easily found their way out. They didn't follow their dive plan. I doubt highly that they were certified cave divers. Sounds like they were on open circuit too.

I have watched many of these cave-exploring videos, and I’ve noticed that when a driver is in trouble, there are always people willing to find and rescue them; this says something positive about human nature.

I like how these stories are always about how these highly experienced highly trained experts decided to not bring enough equipment, not bring the right equipment, bring too much equipment, not go the right way, go too far, ignore warning posts, etc. These must really be some arrogant and cocky dudes. They literally ignore every safety measure.

From my limited exposure to stories about cave diving... I've concluded that there are two types of cave diving stories.. the ones where someone doesnt make it out alive, and the ones where someone barely makes it out alive.
