Relationships with dismissive avoidants can be very traumatizing because it's very hard to not take their behavior personally, and then you start believing that there's something wrong with you, which leads to you twisting yourself like a pretzel trying to accommodate their many restrictions, all the while neglecting your needs. Great video. It seems like a relationship with a DA is only possible if they become aware of it and start working on it.

Until that happens, they're just convinced that every person they date is the wrong person.

IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO TELL PEOPLE THAT IF YOUR AVOIDANT EX WORKED ON THEMSELVES IS BECAUSE THEY LOVED IF THEY DONT DO IT YOU LEAVE THE REST OF US FEELING IT WAS US WHO WASNT WORTH IT REALITY IS NOT ABOUT US BUT ABOUT THEM AND HOW ADVANCED OR NOT THEY ARE IN THEIR HEALING TO EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.

In a nut shell a relaitonship with DA is no relationship, not asking, not wanting, not bothering them with anything, have been there, the worst and the most painful experience of my lifetime, the more you give the less you get with them, turn ruthless and cold beyond despair

No interdependency! No Intimacy! Puts up barriers. Puts something ( work, school, anything) before the relationship. At extreme can be f60.81 narcissist but must have the 4 E's envy of others, exploitation of others, entitlement, cold empathy. + Pushing feelings down. At extreme don't know how they feel or how others feel. ( Alexithymia). + Putting their needs before everyone. Then if all these criteria bad news.

I have a question imagine you are being kept on bey by a DA and they dont know they are DA actually they dont know what attachment style is so your relationship isn't properly defined how would you set boundaries around this how would you tell them that they are DA without causing them pull away and with keeping them interested enough to explore through all these ?
