Lactic Acid Does NOT Cause Muscle Burn!

What Causes The Burn…?
It is the release of protons during ATP breakdown that increases the acidity resulting in muscle burning feeling.
Increasing proton concentration creates an acidic environment
It is this acid that causes the burning feeling

Lactic Acid
Aids your muscles as an energy source
Can help reduce to acidity

Day After Muscle Burn
Known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS
The day after you exercise and feel the burn, is likely due to microscopic tears in your muscles and/or irritation of pain receptors.
However, this is still not well understood.

Wait so do our bodies have lactic acid? I've been reading that our bodies can't produce lactic acid but rather lactate and it's the summation of ATP, Hydrogen, and Lactate that cause the burning sensation. Because Lactic acid looks like its harmful for muscles so how can it help reduce the acidity?
