Which of These 6 Writing Habits Do You Have? 🤔

Being a writer can be an isolating experience. It’s true…

Most of us spend a large part of our days in solitude – tuned out to the happenings in the rest of the world around us all in the name of nurturing our creative flow...

We keep our heads in our laptops and our fingers moving at the speed of light.

Tbh, before you guys… I didn’t know many other writers – at least not on a personal level.

That’s pretty common – especially when you’re just starting out or if you’re new to the Posse.

So when you hit that inevitable wall of writer’s block or imposter syndrome creeps in… it can leave you feeling defeated and wondering:

Am I doing it right? Is this really the right path for me? Am I cut out for this whole writing thing?

Well, I’m here to tell you that are doing it right. And believe it or not, you and I are more alike than you might think.

The truth is, that no matter which genre your writing belongs to… whether you’re a copywriter, content writer, affiliate marketer, novelist, poet, or journalist… there are just some things that we writers, ALL share in common.

These habits unknowingly unite us, connect us, and make us feel less alone in our solitude (that aha moment when you realize: I’m not the ONLY one?!)

Well if you find yourself saying “F YEAH” to any of these 6 habits... then it's pretty clear that you are, in fact, a writer at heart.

And you belong RIGHT here, inside the Copy Posse.

I’m becoming a copywriter and my daughter is working on writing several works of fiction. This definitely describes both of us!

I had this feeling that I am to be a writer in some way shape or form. This just confirms it.

I love writing short stories, screen plays, comedy, children's books and poetry. I also feel it's therapeutic. Love it. I am only a beginner but feel copywriting might become my future.

I can’t tell you how encouraging this was for me!! I was doubting myself hardcore. Each point resonated with me and validated my membership in the club of writers!! Thank you for your work!!!

I like researching the origin of phrases to see what they mean, like "take it easy", and looking at the etymology of words. Oh, ya, and I constantly search up synonyms for words.

Funny enough my grandmother left me an old dictionary with a note in it. Apparently when I was younger it was my favorite thing to just open and read through. I have it on my shelf! It was a nice memory to experience again. 😊

So relatable. Specially the analyzing part in movie theaters. Funny thing this analyzing happens to me every where I go in bus, places crowded, everyone's behaviour helps me write better. Thank you Alex for giving us super content everytime. This really helped me understand myself better. 💙

Sign number one: liking to read.
Oh no....
I do like to read short things... I like reading educational articles when I'm researching. And I usually like reading a book when I'm actually doing it, for about 15 minutes.
But I'm so painfully ADHD; I have so so many books sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I read the first few chapters and then never pick them back up 😭
Hopefully that means I'm still good at writing the content I like to read, which is short and to the point! :)

I am such a writer that I literally keep a list on my Mac of words that I thought I could spell, but actually on autocorrect does. I keep updating it every time I get a reality check, and I love how much fun I can have by simply asking anyone how to spell simple everyday words like POMEGRANATE or EMBARRASSMENT.

I check all these boxes lol, but you had me at "always taking notes". I always have a notebook near me while watching your videos so I can take notes. This describes me so well

The 5th is the most relatable one for me. Analysing everything I come across.

Oh my God! this video just made me feel so much better. There are so many things I do like secluding myself, disociating for hours as I write, analyzing everything, thinking too much, etc. Things that I thought of them as problems and now I feel so much better. (I dont have a lot of writer friends)

5.5/6 (1/2 of the emoji lol)...Another quality that may fit is ppl have always told me "I have a gift in taking complex stuff and making it super easy to understand" (tutoring in college, ppl watch a video of someone elses teaching and then ask me to explain it bc they dont understand, etc). Also, i find it funny bc i would always put my phone in a waterproof case when taking showers bc I didnt want to lose the ability to capture a thought since I couldn't have a notebook. This is all funny to me bc it wasn't until recent that I discovered i enjoy writing (only after my wife pushed me against my will to try to start a blog..to my surprise I enjoyed it). And also I have always loved reading about sales but not doing the actual sales even though I was good and I could never understand why. But when u said 1 directional my eyes lit up and made me think I should give this a try. Currently I am an analyst and wanted to get more into the marketing field. One concern I have about this for myself is that I only care to write about stuff that actually matters to me and it may be hard to work for an employer etc. Any thoughts?
