Bicycle saddle size is important for correct bike fit and comfort.

Saddles generally come in three different widths; approximately 130mm, 140mm, 150mm.

The correct saddle for you depends on how far apart your sit bones are spaced.

To measure your sit bone distance, place a piece of cardboard on a chair, keep your legs slightly bent and lean forward to simulate a riding position you prefer.

Next, stand up and measure the distance in millimeters between the centers of the two depressions your sit bones made on the cardboard. You can sweep over the cardboard with some chalk or crayons to make the depressions more visible.

Last, with the sit bone distance measurement known, add about 25mm. This total is your ideal saddle width based on your body and your riding position. For example, if you measure 100mm and add 25mm the total is 125mm, and the nearest saddle size ideal for you would be around 130mm wide.

Bike saddles come in different widths, lengths, shapes and materials, but this method for calculating saddle size is a good starting point.

Damn, I tried and tried to get a measurement but I'm so damned fat that I don't see ANY bone impressions, only big round circles! Do you reckon they make a 400mm seat bikeblogger? 😂😂😂
