Very helpful. going to try this. For the armhole… what If I want my armhole a little more cut-in than the 1/2” mark given? How much more do I mark in and draw the armhole curve?

Hi! I am a total beginner and have been following along with this tutorial. I'm finding it very helpful so far!

I've created the dress pattern and went to the fabric store this morning to pick out a nice lightweight linen fabric. I got home with it and pulled it out of the bag, only to realize it's quite sheer when light passes through it. I didn't notice this at all when it was on the bolt at the store.

I'm thinking I will need to add a lining to the dress. Any tips for how I can do that and salvage the fabric purchase I made this morning?
