D365 Business Central licensing – Migrate from NAV
With more businesses using NAV planning to migrate to D365 Business Central, we get across

First things first, D365 Business Central is named user licensing.

 Scenario 1: Customer active on NAV BREP/ Planning to migrate to D365 Business Central
On-Prem
o Using NAV Perpetual license: The number of full concurrent users in the NAV
license get tripled (1:3 offer). BREP continues. License migration is a simple process
where Microsoft converts the NAV license to D365 Business Central On-Prem
license
o Using NAV Subscription license: the 1:3 conversion is available here as well.
In case a customer is using NAV Limited User license, these get migrated to Team Member
licenses in D365 Business Central. The 1:3 offer applies here as well.

 Scenario 2: Customer active on NAV BREP/ Planning to migrate to D365 Business Central
Online
Your investment with NAV is fully protected. A fresh subscription of D365 Business Central
Online is subscribed with the required number of users. Microsoft provides a discount on
the D365 Business Central Online licenses. A 60% discount is currently applicable for such
licenses (until June 2022).
The discount applies to all License types in D365 Business Central (Essential, Premium and
Team Members)

 Scenario 3: Customer inactive on NAV BREP, planning to migrate to D365 Business Central
On-Prem/Online
Customers inactive on NAV BREP have two options:
o Renew the BREP paying the applicable penalty – to be able to avail the 1:3 offer
(D365 Business Central On-Prem) or current prevailing 60% discount (D365
Business Central Online)
o Subscribe a ‘New’ D365 Business Central license at the normal prices
