i got an 03 ttr and even after i’ve upgraded to bigger bikes i always find myself back on the ttr, whether it be because the other bikes are out of action or i just wanna feel nostalgic that bike always has my back

As a former racer for motocross. And with my experience on the TTR 125. It struggles with climbing over obstacles. And ain't really got the power it should. It's not a bad bike by any means. But for beginners over the age of 13, or people who weigh more or are taller. The TTR 230 sits 4 inches higher. Providing more stability while clearing obstacles.

TTR 125 30 inch seat height, 50 inch wheel base. 7 HP, Topps out at 45-50 mph.

TTR 230, 34 inch seat height, 54 inch wheel base. 17-18.4 HP. Topps out at 65 mph, 75 downhill.
TTR 125 $3, 400
TTR 230 $4-400
Ultimately your call. But in the long run and with better emissions, more control and stability. A safe amount of power and a thousand dollars more.
The 230 is better all round.

Depends on what your plans are with the bike. Enduro racing, motocross, or just to simply get out and have fun. I started at 13 years old, 5 foot 5 or so, on a YZ 250, built for motocross. Yamaha is what most beginners get, mainly because of the amount of control and stability you get out of everything they make. And they still are competitive on supercross world championship races. Cody Webb, Enduro rider and Motocross racer. He only rides Yamaha. He's one of the best. Or he was.
Ricky Carmichael, only raced on Suzuki's. He set multiple world records and was titled the best racer on the planet. He even overlapped every other rider in one of his races setting the first person to do that.

My friend was ripping hard on his ttr and she got a little spicy, he burnt the rings and she was burning a lot of oil, had to stop at my place and added a half quart (they only take about 1) but she still ran fine, Yamahas are where it’s at

I’m experienced bike rider and I have purchased TTR 125 recently. It’s so small so light in front to right around the farm or even trails!!! and easy to work on!

It's one of the most reliable bikes, too. My sister still has her 01 ttr125, only ever changed the oil, and put 1 set of new tires on it.

I have a new bone stock 2023 ttr 125LE. I have jetting issues. The bike is running very lean on start up.

I have taken the bike to the dealership to have them tune the carb. They drilled out the tamper proof plug on the fuel screw. It does start slightly better since they did that adjustment. But I am still not happy with how the engine coughs and back fires.

I live in south east Texas. So near sea level. What changes have been made to this carb that allow for an easy start. Thanks

I’ve have 2 03 ttr125le and one crf250r both Yamahas brand new carburetors the choke works the idle is perfect neither ever want to start the Honda is perfectly fine well it is also a 2023 one of the ttr’s got it’s engine rebuilt last month still has transmission issues both do when you jump it doesn’t matter what gear you are in I could hit a tiny jump as long as both wheels are off the ground once you hit the ground it drops down to 1st one of the ttr’s has a blown out rear shock they don’t make new ones anymore so there’s that and both have new oil new air filters I’ve cleaned the oil filters there in perfect condition yet they always have issues I’ve still yet to have an issue with my Honda idk if it’s just me and I get the lemon bikes from Yamaha or it’s just the brand in general but like I don’t think this should be happening so
