Can A Blood Brother & Sister Share The Same Room? | Shaykh Yahya Ibrahim | FAITH IQ

As our children grow older we are informed to separate the place where they sleep. During the time of Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ the dwellings were not spacious and there were no separate rooms.

On understanding this hadith further we learn the children shouldn't be covered in the same covering nor should they be made to sleep in the same bed. If you have modest means and cannot afford to give your children separate rooms that is absolutely fine. Islam is meant to be an easy and natural religion.

These days with the filthy influences around them, I would say that young children around ages 9-13 should have their own space. Even separate beds different ends of room may suffice, or they should share with an adult..There's a risk of sexual activity due to the comforts of night time and their under-developed minds..
