Of all the (men) videos I watched, it was a woman that actually helped me figure this out! I love everything about this!

Doesn't look like anyone noticed that you placed the wire under the brass screw wrong. As you tighten it (As you did) it would unravel the wire strand. Had you turned the wire over it would have tightened the wire as you tightened the screw. It makes a difference.

Good video, the only thing not mentioned is that if connecting to a electrical wire the white is attached to the wire w/ridges & the black is attached to smooth wire on the electrical cord, otherwise 👍🏽

I absolutely love your detailed instructions however difficult to focus on what you are instructing because you keep putting the camera back on your face and at the end it was so quick you did not have time to absorb your amazing work

Wonderful! I'm sure this will prove useful in time. What I actually need, and cannot seem to find anywhere, is how to rewire an old light fixture, including a proper ground wire. The old wires in the fixture I have are definitely frayed and unsafe. I want to replace them with clean new ones but I also want to add a ground wire to ensure that it's safe for modern standards. But I'm not sure how to do this properly, so if you are willing, I would greatly appreciate a video showing the process. If anyone else is reading this and knows how, I would love to see a clear tutorial, whether video-style or blog-style. Surely somebody somewhere knows how and is willing to show the process so I can learn! I know plenty of people know how and can do it, but I can't seem to find any tutorials for how to learn it if you don't already know.

Couple things How did you mount it to the ceiling Did you have a box in the ceiling ? Also did you notch the base so the wire would fit through it. Also did you put an inline switch to turn on or off or do you need to plug/unplug the light Sorry for all the questions butr I would love to do this but those are the problems I came across

The cord, if like regular extension cord wire has stripes on one of the wires that is the common or white wire to the lamp and the wide prong on the plug. That way the center contact in the lamp socket will be hot and the lamp socket will be cold. If reversed a person could get a shock from the lamp threading while removing a failed lamp with the fixture connected to the power.

For real, had to dig through about 7 neckbeard talking for 15 minutes about stuff I don’t need to know before finding this. A great no-nonsense tutorial. Thank you. 🙏

How did you hang this light afterwards? Did you have a receptacle box or anything or what did it hook on to?
