Ingredients for making 3 ingredient fettuccine Alfredo:
1 Lb Fettuccine Pasta
10 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano
Water
Salt
Instructions for making fettuccine Alfredo with only 3 ingredients:
- First generously salt a pot of boiling water, next add about 1 lb or 450 grams of dried fettuccine pasta
- Cover and cook for about 10 minutes
- Make sure you save about 1 cup of the pasta water, this is going to help bring the Alfredo sauce together later
- Test if a piece is cooked al dented the drain the rest of the water and set aside
- In a large pan melt 10 tbsp or 140 g of unsalted butter
- Next add your cooked pasta and toss to coat in the butter
- Pour a bit of your starchy pasta water in and stir until a sauce forms. Add more as needed
- Finally, gradually add 1 cup or 90 g of authentic shredded parmigiano-reggiano and toss until its melted
- The sauce should start to thicken and become super creamy
- That’s how you know you’re ready to serve
- If you want to add some freshly ground pepper or parsley on top go for it but it’s also delicious as is
- Once the cheese has melted, the sauce will be luscious and creamy and you’re ready to serve!
