Can I just say: I tried your pumpkin spice buttercream and added a bit of espresso powered dissolved in water, and it was AMAZING.

For anyone doubting this, this buttercream is the silliest and smoothest I’ve ever had. I prefer this over Swiss or Italian meringue. Even without any flavouring it’s delicious with the condensed milk! Give it a try if you haven’t!

I had to adjust the recipe b/c I was short on the condensed milk. Only had about half what the recipe called for. I tested it and it wasn’t as sweet or mapley as I would’ve liked..naturally I substituted for w/about 2/3 cup of maple syrup and 1/2 -2/3 cup of powdered sugar and one rounded teaspoon of cinnamon to liven it up. Been cooking on my own for the better part of ten plus years and I have to say that this is who it a doubt on my top five best things I’ve ever made!!

Wow thanks much for sharing this way of buttercream so much nicer than icing sugar method love love love it will not be going back to icing sugar thanks also how long could this be stored for made way too much and would hate to through away could I freeze it

Oh wonderful! I had to stop cleaning the kitchen and watch this! I somehow have 3 cans of sweetened condensed milk so I'm probably going to have to try this! I love maple! And here, it's fall so that would be perfect with some maple leaf shaped macarons! ( if that's even possible)

I made something like this last night. We had breakfast for dinner, with eggs, bacon, and pumpkin spice pancakes. Instead of butter and maple syrup, I whipped a sort of buttery frosting with a stick of butter, half a block of cream cheese, and about 6 ounces of maple syrup. I didn't use any condensed milk, and it was just perfect.

Tried this recipe and it just looked curdled no matter how long I mixed it 😭 never had this problem with another buttercream recipe! I wonder if it has to do with the quality of the syrup??
