SARCOPHAGUS - Sci-Fi Short Film

I would like to share with you my latest personal project called - Sarcophagus.
It took me a while to finish this one, because it is my first personal also animated project of this kind, therefore I had to make all the animations, texturing, lighting, compositing etc. by myself.

Whole animation was rendered in Corona renderer and only one single PC was used for this task (Ryzen 5950x,128gb RAM). It took hundreds of hours to render.

Software used: 3DS Max, Chaos Corona, Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Quixel megascans, Mixamo, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects.

"Sarco" - Latin origin, meaning: "flesh." "Phagus" - Latin origin, meaning: eat, eater, eating. So a sarcophagus is an eater of flesh, or the thing that eats flesh.

I really like the blended theme of ancient Egypt and extra-terrestrial lifeform. The urns surrounding the sarcophagus give me the vibe of Alien Prometheus. It would be superb if there is a complete story explaining how the astronaut found this place, why he was not fear of approaching the sarcophagus, and the consequence of the contact.

Very good quality animation. Those jars are very much like the (disgusting and scary) life forms in Prometheus. And the floating Sarchopagus/flying machine is like of the Stargate. But, great work, as if the machine was waiting for him to arrive to be activated.

I was expecting that huge mummy to pull out a huge vacuum cleaner and start sucking up the planet's air. They didn't even have to guess the secret pin to open the airlock. You know, the same pin number Dark Helmet uses on his luggage? But there's no shield, so they could just steal all the air and be gone!!!
