President Biden spoke yesterday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where he again pushed for humanitarian pauses in the Israel-Hamas war to allow humanitarian relief to get through for those in need.
But last night in an interview with ABC news, Netanyahu said that's not happening right now. “It will hamper our effort to get our hostages out because the only thing that works on these criminals in Hamas is the military pressure that we're exerting.”
When asked if there would be a pause if Hamas releases the hostages, Netanyahu said “there would be a ceasefire for that purpose and we're waiting for that to happen. It hasn't happened so far.”
