Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says his military would fight with "full force" in Lebanon, despite calls from allies, including the US, for a ceasefire.

The Lebanese government says Israeli strikes killed at least 26 people across the country on Thursday, with more than 550 killed since Monday.

Since 8 October, there has been near-daily cross border fire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Hezbollah, backed by Iran, says it is acting in solidarity with Palestinians. Israel says it aims to remove Hezbollah's threat, and return displaced people back to northern Israel.

Right now the UN has 2, 000 international troops deployed in Southern Lebanon to enforce and patrol the the border established when Israel withdrew in 2000. For the last year they did nothing to stop rocket shot at Israel. Somebody is making a living doing nothing. BBC. WHERE ARE YOU?

I didn't hear a call for a ceasefire when Hezbollah was shooting daily rockets at Israel totaling over 8, 000 in the past year. Where was the call then??

In 2006 the ceasefire was that the UN will make sure Hezbollah is a no threat to Israel so if the UN doesn't do it Israel will do it for them and keep in mind who started this war it's not a game where you could call timeout

Hezbollah have been firing rockets at Israel for almost a year so why are you saying that the electronics being blown up was the start of the war So Israel are far right now is this because they want to be safe on their own land.

World leaders are shutting the gate when the horse has bolted. They were silent over Hizbollah firing at Israel

Why wasn’t anyone calling for a ceasefire while Lebanon was shooting rockets at Israel? BBC, WHY? Ask, WHY. #WHY? “Hope of a ceasefire”? So no one calls for Lebanon to cease firing rockets, only Israel? When Jews are attacked, silence. BBC. Do you not see?

The rest of the world has no right to tell a sovereign nation how it must defend itself.
