Good tutorial and several other makers do this as well.
But I know many others who have tried and failed. Both luck and skill to break even.

I have 533 followers on Thingiverse and 3 of my designs got on the front page, I'm Haku3D there and I need to make some money somehow.
Most of my designs are unique TPU parts for quadcopters that nobody else has even thought about designing, but thousands of pilots now use.

I love how all of these "how to make money" things from influencers always begins with "already be successfully well known." as if that's not entirely luck based. These things should all start with "Win the lottery." as step one.

Any suggestions on a CAD style 3D modeling software that we can use for a reasonable price to create models to sell? Fusion 360 is great but there's not much of an in-between of free and pay out the nostril. :/ I don't mind paying for my software but if it's a yearly/monthly fee that's as expensive as fusion 360 I'm not sure I could make back my costs.

Nah man you just pester people in facebook groups to share their STL's then immediately put them on etsy like 90% of the parasites who make money in 3d printing

Selling the digital model is too much work. you upload it once and everyone can just copy/share it, so you have to keep hunting for someone reposting it and then you have to prove it was your model to begin with.

In the last 4 months of looking up 3d model and 3d printing not once has has gumroad? Come up in the search. Maybe you should make sure Google search can pick it up, poor advertising
