Caution: Do not rely exclusively on scanners to locate objects behind a scanned surface. Some objects may not be detectable by your scanner. Use additional information sources such as visible points of entry of pipes and wiring into walls, standard 16” and 24” (40 – 60 cm) stud spacing practices, and construction plans to determine the likely location of hidden objects. Always use caution before drilling or cutting.

WARNING: ALWAYS TURN OFF THE ELECTRIC, GAS, AND WATER SUPPLIES BEFORE PENETRATING A SURFACE. NEVER ASSUME THERE ARE NO LIVE ELECTRICAL WIRES IN A WALL. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE, SERIOUS INJURY, AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

The problem I am having is that every time I get near this thing it goes off. How can it tell the difference between the stud in the wall or the one that is holding it? Sorry. I just couldn't pass up the stud finder joke. You know you thought of it too...right? I have zero pride!
