“When you have women tell you that they like the camera makes them look, you have to pay attention to that!”
Boom! Best quote right there.

I have been a Nikon shooter since the 70s, but I tried the Fuji X100F and just loved taking pictures with it. I loved all the dials and buttons and it just made me feel more creative. Since then I have purchased the XT-3 and sadly my Nikon D500 and D750 haven’t had much use. One of the biggest benefits to Fuji shooters, which I think you may have overlooked in your video, is the fantastic support that Fuji provides if you have a question or problem. When you call the Fuji Help line, the people working there know the cameras, shoot with the cameras, and can help you out on the spot. Nikon has a help line but every time I called them the tech had to refer to the cameras manual. But the techs at Fuji are amazing and it is great to know that you can contact them with any little, or big question, 7 days a week and there will be someone there to help you out. I can’t say enough good things about Fuji and I thank you for all of the Fuji videos that you have put out.

Nikon to Fuji shooter. Glad I switched. Agree with all your points, especially about the battery door!

Not to mention it has the BEST manual focus peaking that allows me to use all my favorite OLD lenses that are gold paired to my XT3. BTW the ergonomics of my camera is exactly the ergonomic I 100% love!

Owner of X-T30, totally agree on 1 and 2 of wrongs. Sometimes I take my old D7000 and gosh how incredibly well it feels in hand as well as to control! Then I recall it's quite a bulky and heavy piece of equipment, which, as not a pro, I don't really want to bear with me in my trips... Still think Fuji can improve ergonomics without increasing their cameras size and weight. Maybe, also makes sense to ask ItalDesign to look into the problem? Dunno :) . I had to buy a hot shoe handle to kind of mitigate the issue with handling comfort. Another two cents to wrongs I could add is the shutter release button. It's quite soft to me, and I sometimes get false shots. Even with the add-on button top it's still the case.

One thing that Fuji does very wrong is... Their app!

You're right about the update function, it's very cool, but it's amost their only good thing about the app.
I had heard terrible things about it and foolishlly thought that people were "overeacting and exagerating" but it's been unstable for most people (to the point where they never use it), with 2 main functions (uploading images to your phone and using it as a remote to control the camera) that are lackluster.
I work in social media so I just need basic uploading capabilities (everything else is a bonus), Canon offered something far better but I have used Panasonic too, wich was nowhere near stellar, so I imagined it would be like that...
But it's worst, far worst and I think it's a shame.
Not really because I don't expect a compagny smaller than Canon, Sony or Nikon, to be better than them on every front. I can't blame them too much cuz I think they don't have the ressources to do a good job in that area too, as their already making innovations in the camera bodies and lenses. And I, personnaly, can live with this like that, even for my job. But I think it's a missed opportunity for them.
Imagine that it was in fact better that what Canon and Sony* are doing, imagine that we had a tight integration between our phones and our cameras. In term of ideas, I don't think it's very difficult, they're all doing the same things, but more or less refined; in term ressources, it seems like it would be very taxing but... "Retro feel and look but futuristic capabilities".

It would turn heads, give them a lot of traction, including among young people and give them a very good place in the long run, in the saturated market of photography.

*(in fact Sony is moving in this direction with the A1, that you can couple, as an external monitor, with their latest - but very expensive - Experia phone)

Hi Booray - great video and thanks for posting! One thing about the locking of the drive mode - it's very easy to sort this:- just go to the wrench menu and go to "Buttons and Dials" then scroll down to "Lock" and set to "Function Selection", then just select the drive mode to lockout and any others that you want to be locked. Then go back to "Lock" and select "Selected Functions" and any that you "Locked" will be inoperative. It's a great function of the camera and using "Lock" you can set the camera up to be as minimalist or function rich as you wish!

Yes, outer body exposure triangle, d-pad, and programable buttons/dials. My X-T2 in particular excels in this matter. No other camera company comes close to the shooting comfort/pure pleasure Fujifilm brings to the table.

I shot Nikon for over 15 years, then I got the x100. I’ve had only Fuji in my bag ever since. No regrets whatsoever. My favorite images, particularly of my kids, were taken on a Fuji X series camera. These cameras somehow let me forget that I’m shooting digital (a good thing to me). Thanks for you videos. Very enjoyable.

Yes, outer body buttons & bows, a major reason I prefer & shoot with an X-E2 street axe as compared to the later “upscaled”, dumb downed X-E4. Hope they don’t continue on in this point & shoot oriented direction, cuts to the core of their purposes.

I actually added a Small Rig L-bracket, which includes a larger grip, to my X-T4. That auxiliary grip is actually bigger than I want. I like the standard grip. The battery door also works great.

i know that i don’t stand on my own and all alone in saying that - The GFX100S got its ergonomics from the GFX100 and the X-H1, where i personally in the X-trans sensor range, far prefer the ergonomics of the X-H1 to any other X-camera

Spot on Booray. I shoot stills only, so I find the new LCD a minor as well.

About your point on price, I’m able to price out the X-T4, the new 70-300mm, the newer 10-24mm, an extra battery, and a charger for less than the price of the R5, which is what I WAS going to get, but decided on going with Fuji. I’m actually quite excited to get my new setup. It’ll be a nice change coming from Nikon.

Interesting comparisons, too, between using Fuji vs Canon. My first digital was the Canon S3 IS, which had a fantastic grip, great zoom, took amazing low light photos (underwater in a submarine in Alaska), plus a great sports mode and fully articulating screen...but the tiniest LCD with the biggest bezels...it ran on AA batteries; it needed the Lensmate adapter in order to use filters. Couldn't bear to get rid of it, so it was recently converted to an infrared camera.

But now Fuji is our brand of choice for all the reasons you listed. Love the colors, the film simulations, the dials, the customization of buttons. These cameras are a joy to use.

I loved watching the joy segment with the Peak Design strap!

Great video. Im in a similar situation. Been shooting Canon most of my 17 year career but have had flirts with Sony and most every other major brand over the years. Started to take an interest in the Fuji recipes to spark some creativity and change my work up a bit. Bought an X-E4 to test the waters. Loved it but its too small and lacking in features, so I just bought an X-T4 today. I still have my Canon R6, but Im going to see how I like the X-T4 and if I could use it for my work. If I can, it will be way cheaper than the R6 and some RF L lenses, even if I went for the Fuji 50mm f/1 which seems like a killer portrait lens and its half the price of the RF 85 f/1.2 Im also very excited about the upcoming Fuji GFX 50S Mark II, which will come in at only $3, 999. I will definitely be renting one and strongly consider owning one at that price.

I happen to love the ergonomics. Maybe that’s due to my starting out with & shooting for decades with old school 60s/70s non grip bodies, plus the fact tha I like a smaller body. I’m also not a professional, so I don’t walk around for long periods gripping my camera. It’s slung across my shoulder with a minimalist Oeak Design strap, flinging it up into shooting position for a few shots & back down to it’s slinging stride.

Great video, Booray! The other thing I think that Fuji gets right is that they have two SD card slots. Not CF, not XQD, just two SD card slots. How long will it take for Nikon to get that right? Three generations of mirrorless cameras? Come on, Nikon. Get in the Game, or don't play. Two SD card slots are essential for covering Events, Portraits, everything. One other thing, their cameras are so intuitive, it just makes you want to shoot more. What is better than that? Dials where you want them, that let you adjust the principal operations: Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. When was the last time you saw Nikon or Canon provide and aperture ring on their lenses. Fuji also gives you great glass to choose from. You want f1.4 aperture? They have it. They are just Awesome. I went from shooting FF Nikon for years to Fuji crop sensor, and haven't looked back. Way to go, Fuji!

Was Fuji-curious a few yrs ago: picked up an X-T20. Was blown away by the colors- just fantastic! Unfortunately, the x-sensor files did not play well with Photoshop sharpening. Is this still an issue?
