I tested induction with an inexpensive external induction plate, and got some negative experience, large steps like in a microwave with on-off regulation.
Is there any cooktops with continuous(step-less) regulation?

Limitations!. Pot or pan size on bottom. It shouldn't be larger than the largest ring on cook top. There won't be even heat in the pan. Most of the great cookware out there isn't magnetic. We have Calphalon and Rock pots and pans because of the non stick( non Teflon) property's! I picked up a black Friday sale on a master chef induction and testing it against my gas range it was slightly faster boiling a cup of water in a cast iron skillet. After testing my other cook ware, I've decided to return it tomorrow. We have four items that'll work on it! A stainless steamer, one large cast Dutch oven and two larger car skillets. For me, I wanted to be able to use it for a gravy pot, mashed potatoes, cook chili or stew.... My Dutch oven would work but it's 8 quart... Too big for the element! Actually the skillets are as well!. Water boiled in the center of the skillet not outside a four inch circle! It may have its place, but not in my kitchen!
