The thing I love with Death is that he's not considered evil like most villains. Death was there to teach Puss a lesson by valuing his life, slapping him in the face that Puss is not invulnerable nor immortal. Death even challenged Puss, he could've just killed Puss right away but he wanted Puss to pick his sword and fight for his life.

When Puss valued his life and disarmed Death, he ragequitted knowing he can no longer saw a part of Puss that mocked Death. Such a respectable foe, easily became the best villain in Dreamworks movies but ironically, he wasn't evil. He was just doing his job on what Death would do.

Death. It's simple as that

Death comes for everyone, and so does this depiction of Death like he said "Many thought they could defeat me, but no one escaped me yet". I need only this much to know that he claims everyone at some point.

Not even mentioning the fact that He literally was teleporting throughout the movie, always was where Puss was, He didn't appear on the Dark Forest map like everyone else, and then He entered through the Wishing field of the star without a flinch, and it was said to destroy anything that comes through it (Like Jack's baker or almost Baby bear). He literally bend the laws of events and magic items to his will. This should tell you how powerful of a Primordial concept DEATH is.
