This is a more challenging version of the unipedal stance test (UST) used to assess balance and proprioception under reduced sensory input. In this version, the individual stands on one leg, crosses their arms over their chest, and closes their eyes. The test measures the time from when the non-supporting foot lifts off the ground until balance is lost or the foot touches the ground. This variation increases the difficulty by removing visual cues and limiting arm movement, providing a more stringent assessment of balance and proprioceptive function. The standard test requires you to keep your eyes open and place hands to the side of your hips.
