A Little about me:
You see, throughout my life, I've had the privilege of owning several amazing German Shepherds. Each one has brought so much joy, love, and adventure into my life. From my very first German Shepherd puppy named Luna, who was my loyal sidekick during my childhood adventures, to Max, my current furry companion who never fails to put a smile on my face.

They've been there for me through thick and thin, and I'm forever grateful for the special bond we share. So join me on this channel as I share my knowledge and experiences as a German Shepherd parent.

Couple of comments from a long-time GSD owner: Shepherds also come in Black/Red, White, Black & Cream. Check out AKC.org for a listing of color standards. Second, the headpiece of a German Shepherd, such as ear placement, size of ears, and the muzzle length will tell you whether you have breed standard German Shepherd. People pay thousands of dollars to breeders for GSDs who, while they're purebred, do not meet breed standards. If you want to see a standard bearer of the GSD line, google "Rumor wins Westminster." The GSD won BIS at the 141st show. Then you can look at the headpiece, ears, muzzle for example.

I got two 5 y/o purebred Black & Red GSD sisters. They're purebreds because they came with AKC papers and I had to give AKC money to assimilate them into the AKC system. I wouldn't have been able to do that if they weren't purebreds.

There are other coat variations as well, however best way to check? Request a dnz test from the breeder 😁
When looking at breeders to see if they'd lost the gsd that is now my Sable gsd (long xtory), they all listed that a DNA test was included with the sale of the pups.

This video doesn't give you really detailed info on what a good pure shepherd looks like, so here it goes
Purebred German Shepherds have many characteristics that define the breed, including:

Size: Males are 24–26 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh 65–90 pounds, while females are 22–24 inches tall and weigh 50–70 pounds

Appearance: They have a long, square muzzle, domed forehead, strong jaws, black nose, medium-sized brown eyes, and large, erect ears

Build: They are longer than they are tall, with an ideal proportion of 10 to 8+1⁄2, and have a deep chest and athletic build

Color: They are most commonly black and tan, but can also be red and black, sable, silver, liver, or panda

Temperament: They are intelligent, noble, and can learn commands

Gait: They have a free-and-easy trot, but can sprint up to 30 miles per hour

Too much info without accuracy checks. Just work with the pedigree check and get from a renouned breeder who can also get them from Germany.
All these different colors to me are not pedigree. It just has to be black and tan
