Metal production is a critical component in the transition to a lower carbon economy. The Total Deposit Knowledge (TDK) group within the Sustainable Minerals Institute's WH Bryan Mining Geology Research Centre at The University of Queensland, is tasked with three critical steps in maximising discovery rates, while minimising the long-term impact of the mining process. Our critical steps are “Find it” (Discovery), “Describe it” and “Predict it” (the downstream behaviour). Hear about how current research and growth plans, combined with education and training, with clear messaging will support our industry from discovery to mine closure. Are we presently operating in the best manner to achieve “resource efficiency”?
