When someone as brilliant as Taylor comes to fruition I do believe that he will make great impact on modern science there are a lot of haters up here saying that he did not invent the saltwater fusion generator maybe he didn't but he has perfected it and his vision is light years ahead of other nuclear scientists.

It is probably same as with other inventions he has done. Radioactive material detector which uses water instead of rare helium-3. PET scan material generator which is 80 times cheaper than current solution. He hasn't came up with PET - just possibly made it two orders of magnity cheaper. I assume that this is same thing here - he has not invented MSR, just optimized it away so it can be commercially viable within few years.

It bothers me that I have heard Taylor Wilson, in two different speeches, state that he invented the thorium salt reactor when it was invented in the 1960's.

Artur, That is the problem with assumptions. Except he has somehow invented the material unobtainium, then I don't see how his "so called" optimisation works. And do you know how long it takes to complete a materials durability study within a nuclear regulatory framework? There are plenty of detailed advanced designs of compact MSRs out there, such as the design by Charles Holden of Thorenco LLC. Taylor Wilson may be a lot of things, but he is not a durability engineer.

very grateful for this young man. Taylor wish to contribute to the mass by making the resources he presented a lot cheaper and affordable. somebody or some group should start protecting this kid. a lot of wealthy entrepreneurs will surely hate him.

Yes this guy have really have mentioned the solution to humanity main problem of clean energy

"This technology could reach market in five years." As others have pointed out, he has not acknowledged the successful experiments with MSR's in the 1960s. Had he done so, surely his analytical mind could figure out why MRS power generation is not being used over forty years later.

It is no surprise to me that five years later I hear not so much as a peep about molten salt reactors being used to power anything in place of pressurized water reactors, coal, natural gas and wind. Of course there are other energy sources such as tidal energy and geothermal but the aforementioned are the most commonly known and utilized.

Hey 2013 is 6 years ago. So, where the results today?

same...I was so happy my teacher thinks I'm smart enough to study black holes in year 11, but this is just...wow. I was thinking of making a particle accelerator, but no space and no money.

Don't waste the time of a prodigy in speaking to the public. Too many conferences. Let him concentrate on their research, like Al. Ein. That's enough "Show off his talent." Hurry up kid, Save our globe.

i see fusion and fission being transposed....for a smart guy....

he will be sidelined if what he creates affects the big money backing alternative methods - it's like Westinghouse who destroyed Tesla's tower when he found out Tesla was trying to produce free energy.

I I I I I.. does he know he didnt actully do that by himself?

I do not understand a word! Very sad.

Is he claiming credit for the development of molten salt reactors which have been around since the 1960s or just presenting his own paper reactor design? The concept of MSRs is already proven and there is a lot of development in this area by lots of other people, none of which Taylor Wilson has acknowledged in this presentation. A lot of people who don't know about MSRs will watch this video and possibly come away with the impression that he's invented something new.

nice, but he did not really give us any facts...

rather ride in a capsule at 400 mph from Chicago to MPLS than worrying about the worlds energy needs.  Thorium nuclear molten salt reactors are the way to go for the next few 1, 000 years. But what happens in 10, 000 A.D?
