Basic Steps of Translation and Transcription

Protein synthesis in simple terms. I cover the steps of transcription and translation. The overall process involves DNA unzipping when RNA polymerase attaches and a strand of RNA is created. Rna is different than DNA because it contains the base Uracil instead of Thymine. This step is called transcription.
I next show the difference between transcription and translation by showing how the mRNA leaves the nucleus and attaches to a ribosome.
At the ribosome codons and anticodons put the amino acids together in the correct order to form the protein.

Thanks for stopping by. I have a mistke at 2:14 ACU should be paired with the stop codon UGA. Sorry
I try very hard to be mistake free but mistakes happen.
Also, some additional information
Translation always starts at AUG
There are 3 Stops UAA UAG UGA
Always read from 5’ to 3’

I do enjoy your videos and I see all of them. Please create videos on abiogenesis too. Also please create videos about philosophy of life and pros and cons of RNA world hypothesis and debates. Thank you so much.

There is an error at 2:14. STOP codon sequence on tRNA should be ACU. Rest is great.

@2:37, is there an error in the graphic here? Leucine 's codon is UUG and the anti-codon is therefore AAC. Asparagine's codon is AAC and the anti-codon is therefore UUG. Alanine's codon is NOT CGG. CGG is the codon for Arginine. The anticodon of UUG is also incorrect . An anticodon of UUC would have a codon of AAC as evidenced by the previous codon/anti-codon shown. Therefore the correct anti-codon for CGG would be GCC and the corresponding amino acid would be Arginine.
