Senior Fitness - Resistance Band Exercises Full Body Workout

In this session, we are incorporating more resistance band routines into our exercise.

Resistance bands come in many weights of resistance so only use a band that you are comfortable with. If a lighter weight works better for you than always choose your comfort level.

We're doing a full body workout today which helps with all areas of the body. We put a lot of stress and strain on our bodies throughout the week and working with resistance in our workouts helps with strengthening areas that we use the most.

Arms, legs, core, shoulders etc. are all places we can strengthen with resistance bands and not to mention, they're fun to use!

Remember to drink lots of water, breathe and take your time with your comfort level.

I'm late to the game, but watched because this looped in my YouTube feeds. Exercises are great, but are you sitting because helpful for those unable to withstand standing while performing routine? I get the inner/outer work is best sitting, but the others could work while standing, right? We sit enough; why add more sitting?🤔👍

WOW... I am sooo impressed, best workout (senior or otherwise) that I have found - easy to follow, very clear what to do, and exactly the right amount of work for us seniors with some limited energy and capabilities. Made me feel like I finally have found a teacher/trainer I can stick with!!

I know this is an older video, so I hope you get to see my comment. It's March 2023, and I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your seated workouts. Almost a year ago, I had a heart attack following a stroke six months prior. My PT introduced me to your channel at the rehab facility where I recovered after an extended hospital stay. It has been a much slower recuperation process than I'd hoped, but I made decent progress - until I got Covid over Christmas. It was a HUGE setback. I'm only just starting to feel a little more like myself. Although it's been difficult, I'm so-o-o very thankful for the gentle, slow but strengthening movements you demonstrate clearly and patiently (without any weird condescending attitude). It's like you understand my struggle with limited energy and low stamina as I am unable to participate in high intensity standing or floor exercises right now. I'm committed to improving my health prognosis for the chronic diseases I'm overcoming and determined to regain my full mobility. Your content is helping me succeed. THANKS, Meredith!

Hi Meredith. I'm 54 and have, a, serious heart condition. I'm new to resistance bands but your instructions are so easy to understand and follow. Your workouts are just the gentle exercise I need for those tired days. Keep up the good work x

This is a great workout for seniors. I’m closing in on seven zero. I feel that these workouts will keep me fit.

Everyone, before you begin, check your bands for cracks or tears. I got a painful snap and red mark when mine broke during the workout.

Thanks for they exercises as they seem great and so far best for me. I've not been swimming over lockdown and have sore knees and trying to strengthen up the surrounding muscles when not out walking. Thanks

Meredith thank you so much for your videos… I just turned 67 and during this pandemic I put on about 40 pounds… Five weeks ago I started the keto lifestyle… And I’m down 21 pounds… I ordered my resistor bands and I’m walking about 2 miles a day but your videos are perfect while I’m at work and I have some spare time. I haven’t stretched in a long time So this is perfect thank you so much

I'm 48 but have health issues that keep me from doing a lot of strenuous workouts. I find with these I can go slower or harder with them for how I am feeling physically that day and I still swear and burn calories.

Please slow down, our group made up of mostly lung patients in their middle to late 60s and can not keep up with you. We have to keep stopping and starting your videos. Wonderful workout but too fast for our older lung patients and those with joint pain.

Thank you for the free videos. This pandemic has really impacted on 60+ age group as it's been nearly 2 years of not being able to move freely within Australia especially. Due to mask wearing & other limitations in this country particularly so many of us have been sedentary and the end result is massive muscle loss & weight gain. Have done the well with dropping the excess weight but getting active again is so difficult
