No stain & finish like a pro step by step What kind of Polyurethane should you use for table top

Sanded down the table top with orbital sander then applied two coats of oil base polyurethane and let dry. Then sanded the cured poly after one hour of setting with 150 grit sand paper and finish with 400 grit sand paper. Dilute oil base poly 50/50 with mineral spirits and wipe on in an long of a swipe you can make -do not puddle the diluted poly. Let dry sand with 400 grit one more time and re coat with the diluted poly. I did not use stain and I like my table a lighter color

Nice video. The audio is very clear on this one. When you were talking about "scratching it up" did you mean the technique of "distressing"? That's where they build new furniture and try to make it look like it's old. I think that doesn't look good. I'm not much of a fan of real antiques either. But I am a fan of high gloss mirror finishes. Just don't know if I'd be willing to do that myself. I am ok with building things. It's the strong chemicals I don't like to be around. So most of what I build ends up unfinished. Someday I may take my stuff to someone to have them apply a high gloss polyurethane and get the finish I want on my stuff.😊🏆
