i just got braces this past wednesday for my open bite, i can't wait to get these elastics and have a pretty smile :)

Before I went to the dentist and had them address the problem a few months back, I thought that it would be impossible to fix. Then I went to the ortho and now i'll be getting my braces within the next week. Oh what the power of braces can do!!

Man im really happy cuz i had like 10mm open bite and in 4 months its reeeally better, i hope my bite close soon :D

Havin an open bite is a nightmare!!!! I also HATE IT!! But the thought of gettin your jaw broke to fix it is really scary!!!! If these treatment really works like it shows, is great!! One day I hope to have a nice smile!!! That would be my one wish...would make my life perfect and you would see me smilin in all the pictures!!! :D

Well by now, my braces have been gone for 3 months. They waited about 6 months, so they tried straightenining my teeth out first, then to close the bite they used elastics to also shift the teeth into the proper position. :)

Heh, I got the anterior box bands in today. They're not too sore yet. I've had braces on for a month and a half so far, for a relapsed open bite...hopefully this means there's not that much longer to go!

I know! I freaked at the thought of cutting off my upper mandible. Like, I hate to smile like it's horrible. Plus, mine's from genetics, not thumb sucking. Luckily you can't tell by looking at me but...it still sucks. Man, the things I go through and do everyday cause of it. FML. :(

I cannot image an orthodontist correcting those enormous distances with elastics. It would be a case for orthodontic surgery.

@skittlezluv101 Don't be they aren't as bad as some have made them sound. I have braces, I have had them since April of this year. Like the video above I have to wear the elastic in the front of my mouth just like that. I can talk fine and it's not much a problem once you get use to it. Braces dont hurt to put on at all. When the tighten the wire you may experience some pain but it doesn't last long and it. Just think of how nice your smile will be afterwards!

i had an open bite but i didn't have to get elastics in my front teeth, the open bite is gone now

Do you have to wear rubber bands all day? they told me I had to but I'm just using them at home

woahwoahwoah, they would actually put elastics right in the front where you can barely talk and the world can see them!?
