Thanks man, this helped. I've actually reported the high CPU usage to the Brave community. I personally think this is an issue that needs to be fixed. A browser should be lightweight and invisible to the user. It shouldn't crush a system.

As soon as I made a new profile my laptop went from roaring, fan at full blast to SILENT. HOW?! Thank you!

i found out one plugin had 30+ applications so i removed it and runs smooth

I was able to fix this same problem by cleaning up files (temp files etc) and registry, using a free program Glary Utilities. I expect other similar cleaning programs would work too
