For me on Linux I wanted an opposite: to disable it to lower heating of the machine on normal operations when listening YouTube in background.

it didn't work for me it still using 20 % of my cpu usage

Everyone gives this advice, it doesn't work. In fact, my performance got from 400ish MB per open page to 700MB. I don't know why everyone posts this, none of you posts their performance improvement using this technique.
