I like fragrance on my body & hair, just not on my face!

I have a sensitive nose, so I prefer fragrance free on my face! As for my hair and body, the fragrance can’t be too strong. I can get headaches easily by scent :/

It's good to know the difference! my issue with fragrance is usually a headache trigger rather than a skin issue.

Thank you I never stopped to think about why there’s two different words for the same thing but knowing that now it makes sense and yes I have sensitive skin so this will help me 😊

I have pretty sensitive skin, so I always look at the ingridients even if it says fragrance free. Because some products, even though they say fragrance free, they still have perfume in the ingredients list.

Im telling I was raised on Dove soap to the point where I'm conditioned to not feel clean if I'm not using it. Even when I'm using my scented body washes, I gotta wash with Dove first THEN put the scented stuff on

Exactly! I ended up using dove sensitive skin for years, and I love it.

"Artificial fragrances aren’t just a problem for certain groups. More than a third of Americans surveyed reported experiencing health problems when exposed to them, according to a study by Anne Steinemann of the University of Melbourne. “All fragranced products that I tested . . . emitted chemicals classified as hazardous air pollutants, ” Steinemann said in an email. “You may not realize you’re being affected until it’s too late.”

The Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety lists the following possible symptoms of exposure to fragrances: “headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, weakness, insomnia, numbness, upper respiratory symptoms, shortness of breath, skin irritation, malaise, confusion and difficulty with concentration.”

I'm SO thankful she shared this. I never knew! I have a daughter that gets skin rashes easily, and I don't know How many times I bough unscented and fragrance-free products over time, thinking they were the same thing.

Thank you for highlighting that fragrance isn’t the worst thing ever! It’s something to avoid if you have sensitive skin, but mine is on the sensitive side and it’s never caused me problems. It’s a nice part of my nighttime skincare routine getting to enjoy all the wonderful scents of my products! There are much bigger things than fragrance to avoid in skincare products, as you said! 🙌

I love dove, and the original scent from dove, but my skincare it’s all fragrance free majority from the ordinary, my skin it’s so much better (bad acne after my 20s)
