So wonderful to see a father and son spending quality time together and seeing how sharp James is when it comes to recognizing different sea creatures. Such a relaxing and informative video!

I must say, your very best dad joke is when you tell a lobster he’s got an invite to dinner. It’ll never get old!

I always love trying to spy what's hidden under the rocks! That little lobster with eggs was especially cool.

James is a very lucky boy getting to go on all these adventures! My Dad used to let me have little fires too when I was around the same age, it’s an excellent idea teaching them to respect it. Fantastic video as always 💙

I think teaching your son fire safety and how to stack wood for effective campfires is great-you'd learn it in scouts, anyways. It's good for survival training in case he's out alone or hiking in the woods. It's best to stay in one place and wait for rescue if you get lost and knowing he can start a small campfire and keep warm in that situation is a nice bit of insurance and peace of mind. Plus, like you said, you can teach him and he's completely supervised so it's a safe environment. It's nice to learn about the ocean life of Cornwall alongside him, too! (I'm from New England in the USA- we have some different and some same or similar here. It's especially different in the Long Island Sound area VS the Atlantic. The currents are very different so the shore types, wave size, and some of the sea life are all different and there are different protections on shellfish. Also in Maine lobsters blue is a rare coloration as are white ones and yellowy ones. Our guys are mostly deep red.)

The little one is growing like a weed!
You're doing a great job as a father. Always giving him a choice to try new things and overcome his fears. A lesson in coastal foraging and parenting :D

I love the foraging videos especially with James as he is so keen to learn but also so knowledgeable about many bits already. I love that your teaching him about fire starting and management as well as safety because so many kids aren't and just build fires and they get out of control

You really are such a great teacher and such a great father. I did very similar things with my daughter… just in land since there are no beaches lol now she is in college studying Animal Science with the hope of saving natural habitats and the animals that live or need to live there. Kids are so hungry to learn when you get them out in the world and away from devices for a while! Great video, and I learned ai much from you tonight.
