WOW! WOW! WOW!!! Absolute the BEST Sermon!!! Completely crushed the whole “Jews are Gods chosen people” I’ve always thought what a load a crap that is (same thing with Calvinism!)…it’s like the majority of Christians don’t just read their Bible…it’s so clear, God has ONE group of people he saves…the TRUE ISRAEL …

Galatians 3:16 (KJV): Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Romans 2:28–29 (KJV 1900): For he is NOT a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he IS a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

EXCELLENT SERMON! 🔥🎯👍

Hello, the context of the verse in Romans "He is a Jew..." 2:28-29 is that Paul is addressing different people throughout his letter. In this section he addresses the Jew who seeks to rest in his Jewishness and performance of the law for righteousness (v17). Paul points out that being this kind of Jew is not enough.

In verses 9-11, Paul keeps to the fact that there is a difference between Jew and Gentile as to what they are, but points out that with God there is no respect of persons, in that being either Jew or Gentile does not automatically guarantee right standing with God, nor wrong standing, but rather what their heart/spirit situation is. The Jew must not simply be a Jew by birth, but a spiritual Jew, one who has a circumcised heart (v28).

In Chapter 3 Paul continues to keep to the fact that Jews are not Gentiles and Gentiles are not Jews, they are what they are and remain so; the Jews were committed the oracles of God (Rom 3v2). However, Paul points out this doesn't make Jews better than Gentiles in that both groups are proved under sin (Rom 3v9-11), and righteousness is by the same route for both groups (individuals within those groups); it is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe (v22). Note however, that even the redeemed Jew or Gentile continues to be called a Jew or Gentile (v29), the circumcised and the uncircumcised (v30).

Before ostracizing me because I see that; 'a Jew is a Jew, a Gentile a Gentile, I am a Gentile believer in Jesus and have not become a Jew, ' know this; I believe in the finished work of Jesus the Messiah on the cross in payment for all sins (1 John 2:2) and it is through faith in this Jesus of the Scriptures, His death, burial and resurrection according to the Scriptures (1 Cor 15:3-4) that I am credited with God's own righteousness (Gal 3:6-7). And this faith is not of myself, and not of any work on my part, it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8-9). I understand that repentance means 'change of mind' and what one is changing one's mind about depends on the context. In the context of salvation from the penalty of sin and receiving of everlasting life, that change of mind is simply and only about who Jesus is and what He's done (Messiah, Son of God, God the Son, and His death on the cross being full payment for sins, His burial and His resurrection in assurance of our resurrection to life also - who trust in Him). I do not believe 'repentance from sin' is part of the gospel message as this adds a work, nor do I add any other work either. Believing in Jesus' death being the propitiation for the sins of the world means that I inherently acknowledge I am a sinner in need of His work, but does not mean I have turned from all sin, for that is not possible to be kept. If that were a condition for salvation then none of us would be saved because we all do sin as believers, otherwise why wrote John to believers that 'if we say that we have no sin the truth is not in us, but if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness'? (1 John 1:8-9)

I do recommend having a look at Ariel.org's Come and See studies and have a look at his teaching regarding Jews, Gentiles, Christians.
