This is a short tutorial on how to use the Build Planner to make your life easier in Space Engineers, one of the biggest quality of life updates it's surprisingly easy to miss bits (at least it was for me) :P

New tutorials will be posted as soon as I feel they are complete but hopefully will be able to get them out about once per week.

If you have any tutorial topics you'd like me to cover in the coming videos please let me know in the comments. If you've got burning questions about how to do something, ask here and I'll do my best to answer.

Try installing an antenna and remote on your base. This will allow you to fill your build planner and send it directly to the assembler without leaving your worksite. 👍🏻

Wait... seriously? I've been multi tripping it because I forgot one motor and oh now I also forgot the grids....Don't Space Engineers without a Splitsie.

Thanks for the tutorial. The explanation of why it fails sometimes was very useful.

I've put off learning the build planner because I'm suspicious of change. But when I decided it would make my in-game life that much easier, I decided to come here. Another epic Splitsie tutorial...no detail left untold. Thanks for putting so much work into this video.

One thing that could be clarified is that by middle clicking on a conveyor port with a block in hand will add any components needed for said block before adding any missing components into your build planner queue (as shown in the video). Apart from that, thanks for showing me that I can add components for a block to the assembly queue without opening the inventory. I can't believe I never read the tooltip that indicated the shortcut for that.

You do this WAY better and far more thorough than i did. Well done sir.

On thing you missed. When withdrawing from an access port, if you middle mouse click twice it will pull from inventories other than the one you are currently pointed at.
If you mentioned this and I missed it, I apologize.

This is excellent tutorial for build planner! It was massive quality of life improvement indeed, but even for experienced engineers not very intuitive. Learned few neat tricks. Thank you, sir!

i know it's an older video but it checks out ;)

thanks Splitsie... for some reason despite me doing all this in space engineers i completely forgot or something was wrong and i couldn't middle mouse etc to draw out components or transfer into a cargo.... and for the life of me my memory just wouldn't allow for any reason why... so first chance i got.... i instantly thought "hang on, Splitsie did a tutorial on pretty much everything SE" so here i am, so again Thank you Splitsie, you are a life saver, again! :)

Dude! I've been playing with this for a while and I'm just amazed at the fact that I never read the tooltips in the inv screen! I could've been using this thing a lot better if I had. Thanks for the pointers!

One tip is mmb on an inventory doesn't seem to work if items are stored in an inventory on a separate connected grid. You have to access the inventory and use the transfer button instead. Also, when there is more than one assembler on a grid, there does not seem to be a way to choose which assembler's build queue to use. Maybe turning off all but one assembler would do it, but I haven't tested this.
Great tutorial Splitse!

Right click with welder was exactly what I needed, also works with Projected blocks. Thanks!
