Why I’m So Obsessed with Free Speech...

Why is free speech important - just to defend hedonic freedom? Is there any difference between free speech and free thought? Do we (mostly) think in words or images? Was Plato right - does learning equal remembering, in a sense? How do internal debates work?

_"I don't think there's any difference between free speech and thought"_

Simple, on point, and extremely true.

It's poetry: "The entirety of society depends - for it's ability to adapt to the changing horizon of the future - on the free thought of the individuals who compose it." Beautiful.

This man should be protected at all cost. We love Jordan Peterson

My wife is always asking me "who are you speaking to?" I almost always answer "myself". I find myself verbalizing my internal dialogue from time to time. I suppose living alone for almost twenty years is the cause.

Brilliant. And to this end…let us speak freely and realize we are strong enough to withstand hearing things we do not like or may seem hurtful. This is the process through which we can actually learn to live together better.
You nailed this, Jordan.

I watched the whole interview, it was just as compelling as this clip. I try to watch all this man's videos. I never want to stop learning or bettering myself.

Jordan Peterson doesn't lie. If you don't like what he says, so be it, but he doesn't, he won't lie. If only I could trust our elected officials the way I trust Dr. Peterson.

Jordan Peterson is a lighthouse of wisdom on an island in a foggy sea of lies and people who want to constrict the voices of those who oppose their false opinions. He truly has been a role model to young people like me.

"The word that is truthful is the word that extracts habitable order out of chaos."

Memorable quote, Dr. Peterson.

My siblings and I were brought up not being allowed to speak freely and to have to agree with lies. It is absolutely true that it is devastating and crippling.

The explanation of thought is incredibly well expressed.

Never change. Keep on fighting. The world need voices like yours. America needs voices like yours. Common sense is dying. Freedom is trying to be taken away and we need to fight against it. Thank you for being you.

This is now my favorite presentation on Free Speech. I've read entire books on the subject in the past; but as a rationale: why free speech is essential, nothing beats this.

*When it comes to investment, diversification is key. That is why I have my interests set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. They range from the EV sector, renewable energy, Tech and Health.*

What a truth Mr Peterson stated when he said that we all need to be heard. Children who grow up without opportunities to be heard can become adults with no sense of self.

Jordan Peterson is someone the Greeks would have made statues of.
The Greatest Western Thinker of Modern day Era. Blessed are those who have an open ear.

There's such a demand for this guy's ideas that 3 minutes after releasing his video he's got 1.2 THOUSAND views. That's bloody impressive.

The importance of Free Speech its not self-evident but Professor Peterson describes it in a compelling way and you can follow his logic very clearly as he speaks. I really like the fact that he uses realistic analogies like examples from his own life to illustrate his point

This is why I’ve always loved shows like QandA, because it allows for opposing sides to ‘engage’ with each other and try and sort out the world through dialogue.

If only people weren’t forced to the extremes of their views with all the echo chambers out there, it makes it very difficult to reconsider something which has become a sacred value to someone because everyone is CONVINCED of their opinion.
