I remember buying this game disc second hand off Ebay because I didn't want to pay full-price for it. I got to experience the game and enjoyed it mostly. This update has fascinated me so I intend to buy it again because I can't believe the work they have put in over the years. It's time for me to return

as a game developer myself, I see it not as a charity or true art expression. There is definitely a business pragmatic view to give free updates.
You can notice that No Man's Sky is on top of sales chart for years. I think it would'nt be the case if they stopped updating. AND it wouldn't be the case if they did everything in a one huge update. Their updates are constant reminder to the players that the game is better and better, always improving. It's a marketing strategy.

Also they have made one game at the same time as updating this one. And another big game will soon be realised. Surely No Man's Sky is not in an active development stage, but in a support phase (albeit active one)

Yeah but . . . It's the same mile wide inch deep game loops and reused assets in every system that really puts me off. It's almost as if I feel that the game is trying to trick me . . . Still feels off to me, my opinion though. . .

The new space stations lost the rooms. That is the only thing i miss. I think the universe was big enought for old stations to be in some sistems.

facts to be I don't think people started finding these none working surface portal buildings until like five major updates in!
