Problem was they hyped this up like it was a AAA game, when it's just a really big Indy game. The full price didn't do it any favors either, at $25-30 I would have considered it, but $60 uummm no thanks...

tbh the game was not overhyped, it was all the gamers that honestly thought it would be the best game ever. the developers were also to blame by giving little information about what you will actually be doing, gamers started filling in the blanks with their own imagination.

Feels like an early alpha. There is no meat on its bones. It needs.

Questing
Stories behind the aliens maybe siding with a race and destroying the other races or something
Basebuilding
Ringed planets, barren planets, sea planets, mountain planets, moons
Proper combat, more diverse enemies
Wildlife interacting with each other
An empthesis on exploring and identifying creatures
Vehicles to drive around on planets.
Ships with different statistics like speed acceleration weapons controls
Bigger inventory and better organised inventory
Proper animals not same body different tail same tail different coloured head
Multiplayer - exploring with friends
More complex crafting system to allow you to build structures
Improved graphics not blurry low res textures
Longer popin distances for better set ups
Smaller world so you can run into people and your discoveries actually have an importance
Full alien cities on some planets, with quests to do in these locations.
These points make it 60 dollars

IGN reviews are bullcrap, if the developer pays IGN well, they will get a good review. I'm not saying for No Man's Sky, I'm just saying in general IGN are not reliable for reviews.
