Besides stress management and nutrition, I think simply washing my hair more has helped it so much. I have super baby fine hair. It gets dirty very easily. The 2010s were full of advice to not wash your hair as often, which is great for certain hair types, but terrible for mine. I also stopped using dry shampoo and that helped a lot too. I only ever use it in an absolute emergency. Like running out the door and realizing I should’ve washed my hair. My rule though is that if I use dry shampoo, I have to wash my hair that night.

Tip: I buy cheap silk scarves and dresses from the thrift store and make my own hair ties and pillow cases. Huge savings.

One thing you didn't mention and I didn't see in the comments. If you have thin, baby fine hair don't let a hairdresser cut layers. Not only do they add to scraggliness, they take forever to grow out.

To Keltie/anyone who needs to hear this, You're doing great, things will work out, sometimes you just need to push, even during the hardest times.
P.S. Your hair is so beautiful Keltie!

Been waiting for this! Your original hair growth video is the reason my hair is longer today than I ever thought it could be. Every time I almost gave up like I used to I watched the video and it inspired me to have more patience. It’s been 2-3 years and I’m still growing it thanks to you!! ❤

I remember the start of this journey, the growth is amazing and does not go unnoticed!

Love these tips. Another one I'd add is that I always brush my hair before showering so that it's easier and less tangled to brush when it's wet. That might be stating the obvious, but I don't think I'd ever thought to do it until fairly recently!

The very first video I've ever watched of keltie, was the video of when she decided to remove her hair extensions. It was so emotional for her then, but how lovely to see her now, so happy after such long hair journey. Well done!

Also, dear viewers, please don't forget that dying and bleaching is a different thing. Reaaallly think about bleaching your hair. If you bleach it once, you damage it once. If it is a look you want to maintain, you damage your hair, every single time. There is no bleaching that does not damage your hair. Bleached hair is always higher maintenance.
I'm serious bleaching makes maintenance go up by a LOT. Even if correctly done breakage can be reduced but is kinda unavoidable practically.
Do not forget that this is a YouTuber who's literal job is partly to maintain her hair. Depending on your job, this kind of hair might not even be sustainable. If you are still at school age or in your teens generally, you are still changing, so while routines are important search for upkeep that is inexpensive. Your bodies needs are sometimes changing depending on what hormones, your body randomly decides to throw at you. Which means suddenly you have an oily scalp instead of a dry one.
A reminder for everyone that this is not exclusive to teens! Your hormones don't suddenly stabilise when you hit 18. Your early twenties still throw random shit at you. Sudden life changes, stress, (for those who get pregnant!) and so on, can all influence what "type" of care you need.
Generally less is more. Best advice? Ditch all the product you have except shampoo and conditioner, . Add one product of all the products you ditched. Is it helping? No? Ditch it. Yes? How much? Barely a difference? Ditch it. It helps a lot? Keep it.
Can you air dry your hair? Yes. Do it whenever you can. No. Dry your hair without using heat. "But I need to style my hair!" First of all, really? Alright fine use heat protector.

You nailed the stress management statement about life just gets more stressful as you get older! I wish I learned effective stress management techniques earlier in life!

I had this problem as well and the person that helped me the most is for sure Abbey Yung here on youtube. Not just a beauty influencer talking about what works based on trends, but a trichologist who really knows her stuff.

I literally just rewatched this whole video, pausing, and ordering everything you recommended. I also have fine hair, but I'm tryng to grow it after being bald from chemo. Thanks for doing the leg-works and sharing your results! You saved me a ton of time and money.

I recommend using hair oil too! It really helps add slip to your hair which reduces breakage. It’s great to use a bit before bed so it doesn’t get as tangled while you move in your sleep, and definitely before you brush. I have fine hair like you so I have to be really careful about which oil I use because a lot are way too heavy. I love the one from Oaui, and also Olaplex. Also have to say I love how real and vulnerable you are in your videos ❤

Strangely my haircare journey started about 8 months ago too, after having a really bad hairdresser for years, took off 4 inches of my hair when I asked for a trim. She told me it was in really good condition. I changed hairdressers since then, and the new one is an angel! My hair feels thicker, like it hasn't since I was a teen. My hair is shiny and flawless. The new hairdresser did scrub the absolute living crap out of my hair, like the old one did. The new one put the correct products in my thin and oily hair, the old one treated my hair like it is thick and dry. A great hairdresser makes the biggest difference.

I have started losing my hair and that other video really helped me. It may seem silly but I really understand. I'm trying not to think too hard about it because I might cry, but I've started adding collagen to my coffee or drinks in the morning and trying to fix my sleep and cannot for the life of me figure out what hair products would best fit my hair type. Or what to do to get my hair to what it used to be. Thank you for posting your journey. It gives me hope.
