Those of you looking for a software update to the 5000 series or the 55pfl5602/f7 are out of luck. The apps are not pretty old and its not even running android from what I can tell. It still does WiFi Direct on older stuff so thats good. But only a few of the big player apps work. So NetTV is almost not working. But the TV does. So thats a plus. Time really has marched on.

I avoid doing this at all cost to avoid ads on my menu, less functionality and some perks but not having ads is worth more to me than any of that. It's my TV not your bill board.

Just a heads you guys are breaking things....

Since the last TWO updates to the firmware, i'm no longer able to write to the external drive attached to it via USB.
The issue with that is no one wants to walk back and forth from their computer to their TV, plugging in, and unplugging an external drive, just to update content on the drive.

This is a MAJOR issue. I get you people want to lock down the android TV's so user's can customize them, or remove the useless bloat, but this is going too far.
