Patrick is amazing. Interestingly, most of his solo is totally inside the harmony; no crazy substitutions or exotic scales. Just chromaticism and a freaking amazing technique to explore everything possible. Simple, but far from easy.

Not sure if you knew but the notation should be an octave higher for alto, he just has such a large range that it makes more sense for it to be in the lower octave

tbh it would be more impressive if he *did* sound bad on purpose. it takes a lot of skill to play an instrument perfectly, it take even more skill to play an instrument badly on purpose
