It may be debatable that it is easier to becoming a "DJ" but it is still more admirable & worthwhile to be a DJ with skills, talent and professionalism.

Mixing in phrase is so so important and something I didn't learn right away with online courses. Makes long mix transitions sound so much more natural.

What makes a great dj for me personally is the ability to read the crowds and play the appropriate songs. It's best to play commercial songs and mix it with a bit of underground where people can enjoy it. You got other things but this is what's important for me at least.

I’m a beginner but not lazy because I pay attention all you have mentioned here.

Being a vinyl DJ myself, i rely more on my ear for things like harmonics or pitch
Dj Software i find makes many mistakes even if you prep
Vocal on vocal mixing is not good, but it can still work if you creatively do it so it's not clashing such as fader ups in a rhythmic flow with echo or delay , because sometimes you have to mix a tune in or are in a vibe moment.

There’s hardly anything left to say about DJ mixes anymore. It feels more important to figure out how to create a hit song.

I’m not a beginner but it’s good to listen by ear as been vinyl DJ / CDs and now Digital, relying on wave forms and cue points are handy, I use horn but I focus on the music more, I usually use Fx between songs if needed, i been DJ / for 30 plus years and got to know a refreshing to know

I can’t tell you how many DJs I see that don’t understand the concept of phrasing

In curious why you use folders instead of tags? I also do that but it feels like a mistake to me.

As tech continues to make more things accessible, those who focus and take the time to build on their skills will easily stand out from the rest.

Thanks a lot for all the tips every time. :) But this time I am wondering why you should put all those Cue Points? If you have to DJ on older equipment you cannot use a Cue Point at all..

Another thing I see most lazy dj’s do is just playing the same bangers for last 3 years most aren’t keeping up to date with newer music.

I think overusing effects is more misguided as opposed to lazy. It's the same premise as why a dog licks its groin; because it's there and can be done. I think all that time spent looking at the board and tweaking out effects is better spent looking at the crowd and their reaction to the music you're choosing.
