Not so much in English, but when I'm having conversation with friends in other languages, swearing is a sign of intimacy, and not doing it signals a distance between the people in the conversation, even between highly educated people. In English I also notice that but is less preeminent than in some other languages I know.

I've been able to break earworms by using a short jingle that doesn't lead into anything repetitive. I'm not sure I'm explaining it well. Examples would be the "By Mennon!" line that used to come at the end of Secret Deodorant commercials or the opening to All Star by Smashmouth body").

If I recall right, Adam Savage has explained why this works but I can't recall the reasoning at the moment.

I highly doubt you have never imitated anyone else in your entire life. But I say this is someone who imitates a lot of people. Don’t all teenagers do that at some point?
Speaking of teenagers, does any of your expertise or advice about teenage boys also apply to teenage girls? I ask this as a former teenage girl who maybe hasn’t given up all of those tendencies and would like to.

Hello Steve. I check out Jessica from Peace Love Books, Jenn from The Book Refuge, I check out Peter Monn vlogs, Krista from Books and Jam, my favorite movie is Die Hard with Bruce Willis, Speed with Keanu Reeves, Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth, my favorite music 🎶 is Country, R & B, Religious music from time to time, Christmas music during the holidays. The song that gets stuck in my head is Big Green Tractor. I don’t set goals for myself because I wouldn’t stick to them. What do I need to get better at ? Having self confidence in myself. I can be pretty easy to get along with. I haven’t lost my temper lately. Someone would have to push me in order to get me mad enough. The worst book I have read and didn’t finish was The Mister by E.L. James. I don’t take naps at all. I have never been to Minnesota. I don’t go to bars/nightclubs. The last time I laughed out loud was this morning because I’m reading a really good book. Politically I go from Democrat to Independent. I have nieces and a nephew and no kids of my own. I am very much single I like the job I have right now because I have time to read books. I like living in Georgia except for the mosquitoes and the Winter weather ❄️.
