Lou Rawls' voice is like the darkest chocolate laced with the most buttery caramel with a honey finish.

Can we take a moment just to marvel at Amber. This lady just gave birth to her third child a little over a month ago and she looks fantastic. I love these guys so much

I met Lou Rawls about 25 years ago in Tampa, Florida. He was sitting at the bar in the Marriott hotel. I walked up to the bar right next to him, (I was waiting for my girlfriend). He talked to me for a few minutes, asking where I was from, my name, etc. he said he was visiting and his name was “Lou”, I recommended a local seafood restaurant. Later that night a band was playing down the street from the pirate festival and there he was! I almost fainted. Thinking about it later I’m glad I didn’t know who he was, i imagine you’d get sick of people fan crushing on you all the time, I just remember a sweet man who put my drink on his tab. 😊 🙌to Mr. Lou Rawls!!

No one had a voice like Lou Rawls. One of the most overlooked legendary singers of the 70's and 80's.

She reacted exactly as I expected when Lou started singing. Priceless!

This song was 1976 but his career spanned over 5 decades starting in 1951 up until his death in 2006.
He's also a veteran. US Army 82nd airborne in the Mid 50's

I'm going to say it. Barry White, -(Can't get enough of your love) a legendary Barry you will enjoy. I think more babies have been made to his songs. You'll understand why when you listen to him.🎶😎🎶

Aside from being a gifted singer that man has helped put so many black kids through college, with his work with The United Negro College Fund. Rest in power my brother

Amber’s initial reaction to Lou’s voice is priceless. Keep up the great work!

Lou Rawls and Barry white are really 2 of the most distinctive smooth male voices from that era.

Honestly, this man is so vastly underrated and underappreciated it's almost tragic. One of the greatest singers of all time.

Lou's baritone was a thing of beauty. He was gifted with an instantly-recognizable voice that just fit perfectly in so many different genres...blues, pop, soul, disco, standards, jazz...I have no doubt he would have made a superb country singer, had he been so inclined.

Frank Sinatra once stated that Lou Rawls "has the silkiest pipes in the biz"

The 70s was one of THE best decades for music! I feel blessed to have been around (even though I was a kid) to experience it! Guess my mama raised me right, because we listened to ALL genres of music!

Johnny Mathis "Chances Are" "Misty" "The Twelfth of Never" "WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL" OMG he's a masterful singer.

Bill Withers is similar in that deep voice to Lou. Try “Lean On Me”, “Lovely Day”, “Ain’t No Sunshine”, or “Use Me”. If you want a great vocal performance from the 80s try Simply Red “Holding Back The Years”.

I weep for the masses of people your age who've never even considered listening to this real music. Smooth deep rich soul music. No filth, no vulgarity. It moves you on so many levels. Brings a huge smile to my heart to see you guys experience and enjoy this art.❤

1:52 When Lou first started singing, the look on Amber's face is priceless.

This is NOT Motown. This was known as “The Philadelphia Sound”. (TSOP, O’Jays, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, etc). Very distinct orchestral arrangements in all of them
