Can you just IMAGINE growing up listening to this and all of the other music you've reacted to? Most of us here HAVE... We are blessed with growing up in the most experimental and amazing times for music.

My name is Angie. I have always loved this song. I have an uncle who plays acoustic guitar and sings. He has sung this to me since I was a little girl. It brings back sweet memories for me. He sang it to me at one of our family reunions about 8 years ago when I was 45. It transported me right back to 9 years old again.

Written exclusively by Keith Richards. The tough guys always write the most beautiful songs.

So excited you're doing Angie!!! My fav Stones song. When I was in middle school (I am now 61) my older, VERY cool cousin used to drop me off at school on her way to work every day. One day this song came on the radio. I asked how in the world did anyone like this song, and declared that the singer could NOT sing. LOL. She laughed and then proceeded to explain music to me. She taught me to appreciate the unique and different, to find the beauty in imperfection. She taught me to love Mick Jagger, and subsequently many other "unique" voices. She died of a brain tumor very young and I miss her every day. This song is always for her when I hear it. I owe her so much. Side note to end with a happy thought.... my youngest son came to me one day and said "MOM did you know that Mick Jagger's first name is Mick??!! How crazy is that???" I said, "Daniel, I don't understand.. . of course Mick Jagger's name is Mick... what are you talking about?" He said, "All this time, I thought people were saying McJagger, and I thought Mick McJagger was a funny name.'" LOL. Love to you and your darling little family. Keep on keeping on.

Now that the Stones are back on the table. You MUST listen to "Can't you hear me knocking" the extended version! It is incredible

Nicky Hopkins' piano playing on this is stellar. Really makes the song.

That is the mighty Keith Richards on that awesome acoustic guitar. He also wrote the majority of the song... lyrics, guitar and piano. Legend.

My daughter is named Angie because of this song. Years before she was born I knew this was going to be her name.

I was in high school when "Angie" was released. We actually had a jukebox in our cafeteria. We knew "Angie" was about to play before the music and vocals on the record even began because of the sound of sracthing and popping from being played so much!
When I hear it, I'm brought right back to that time and place!

Jay & Amber, you'll love their "It's Only Rock 'n Roll (But I Like It)" and "She's So Cold" !!! The biggest band I ever saw in concert, 1997.
Great choice.
edit- Mick Jagger – vocals; Keith Richards – acoustic guitar; Mick Taylor – acoustic guitar' Bill Wyman – bass; Charlie Watts – drums.
Nicky Hopkins – piano; Nicky Harrison – string arrangement.

1973 was a great year for music and this song is one of the reasons why. A rare ballad from the Stones, this was Number One on the charts until Gladys Knight and The Pips knocked them out of the top spot. Do a deep dive into the big hits of 1973. You'll be glad you did!

I was 16 when this was released. Even though my name is Angela, lots of people call me Angie. So I loved this song when it was released - and I still do. Brings back wonderful memories. Thanks for all the reactions you do. Cheers from Sydney Australia .

Everyone loves "Angie"!!! It's one of their most loved songs. They had a 90's song that's kinda like this one. It's called "Out Of Tears." That's another one of my favorites.
